Book Bug

Your child can be an author!  Encourage your child to channel his/her imagination into writing stories…and the Book Bug program will publish those stories into hardbound books for you to share and treasure with friends, family, and the Bridle Path community.

Here’s how it works:  your child writes a story, works with a teacher or parent to proofread and edit, and then types the story using the Book Bug Template.  Your child then prints the typed story, adds illustrations or even photographs, fills out the Book Bug Submission Form, paper clips it all together in puts it into a full sized manila envelope (please do not fold your pages!), and drops it off in the Book Bug box located inside the school library.

A keepsake certificate will be awarded to your child during the Mustang Meeting at the end of the trimester.  Book Bugs will be bar-coded and added to the Bridle Path library collection for all to enjoy, and then returned to your child upon sixth grade graduation.

All books for the 2016-17 school year must be submitted to the box in the library by Monday, May 8th, for processing prior to the end of the school year.

What a wonderful way to encourage writing!  Every child has a story to tell…we hope yours will join the adventure.  Have fun and good luck!
